I received my new EDF set and I noticed some scratches inside the fan. It looks like the fan already ran and the blades were touching the case at 2 opposite locations. Is this to be expected?

Yes slight initial rubbing or mark are common due to the tight tolerances and will open up on the first start up.

what battery would i need to get six minutes> run time?

Although the battery capacity is important, flight times are affected more by weight of the airframe, throttle management and air temps. For example, I've flown my 90mm for 18 minutes on a 5200mah. Granted, I was puttering around to see how long I could stay up with a minimal throttle (I can monitor the amp draw in realtime on my IX20SE. With the 3658-2150Kv in my Grippen wide open and high alpha flight I get 3.5 - 4 minute useful throttle time on a 5000mah. The same motor and battery combo in my buddies Avanti lasts about 5 - 5.5 minutes of useful throttle time. The actual flight time is usually 30 - 45 seconds longer on average than the times listed above.
